Panmure House, which consisted of a central block with lateral extensions flanked by square towers, has been demolished, only a modern stable block remaining. The earliest portion was erected in the late 17th century, but extensive alterations took place about 1860 (A Millar 1890).

He adds, 24th Sept. 1766, that they are now in "ye new Mahogony Buroe in ye high drawing room", etc., and that other documents there "were taken out of ye great oak cabinet in ye red room close (t) which contains yet title deed of the Estate"
