The sandy bay below Red Banks may have been a base for commercial fishing. The soft cliff is much eroded but there are remnants of two tracks which once led down from the clifftop. At the NW side of the sand beach a jetty has been built on the first tongue of rock; it is 1.5m wide and is constructed of massive boulders.
