PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM NO. 73: THE WILLIAM WILLIAMSON ALBUM.
Album of blue leather insc: William Williamson, Architect. Album of professional views of the architect's work, compiled as a personal record by him, largely of buildings in Kirkcaldy, c. 1900, including houses (The Croft, Braehead, The Lodge); Burgh Buildings (Court, Magistrates' room, cells); Bennochy Road Station Hotel; Electricity generating station; High Street buildings; house at Kincardine-on-Forth; Elementary School; Carnegie organ case and Royal Bank buildings. There is a newspaper cutting with photographs of the Labour Homes, Inverkeithing, a lodging house at the Naval base, Rosyth, built using a fire resistant construction, the Hennebique system of ferro-concrete, which allowed the recreation hall to be built 128ft x 34 ft without intermediate supports. A photograph of a ship "Princess Ena" shows her passing the John Thorncroft Engine Works, and another shows a plaque at the Burntisland Public Library, 1907. There are also photographs of the following:- a memorial stone "In loving memory of Harry Hutchinson Williamson, CE, born Kirkcaldy, Scotland, 13 February 1875, died at Luxor 3 March 1907"; and a plaque "To the memory of Richard Muckersie, Boy 1st class, RN who was lost overboard from HMS "Dunedin" on 10 September 1939 in the performance of his duty on active service, erected by the officers and company of his ship."
