Archaeology Notes

NO33SE 81 39720 30255

(Location cited as NO 397 303). South Mills, Brown Street, built 1864 and 1875. A 3-storey, attic and basement, 3- by 30-bay building, with two pediments.

J R Hume 1977.

Following a request from Historic Scotland, a new photographic survey of South Mill was carried out by RCAHMS in May 1999. This was to coincide with the exposure, during the mill's conversion into flatted dwellings, of the cast-iron frame and roof trusses of the mill itself.

Visited by RCAHMS(MKO), May 1999.
