A chapel at Denhead was one of six anciently dependent on the church of Kettins. Most of those chapels were within small enclosures used as burial-grounds.

Note (1 December 1989)

There were 'anciently' six chapels dependent upon the church of Kettins (NO23NW 6); most 'were within small inclosures used as burying places' and one of them is said to have stood at 'Denhead'. Easter Denhead is at NO 240 414 and Wester Denhead at NO 231 410.
