Field Visit (20 April 1989)

Beside the public road, close to its junction with the drive to Keillor House (NO24SE 28.00), there is a 17th-century two-compartment lectern dovecot (6.5m from WSW to ENE by 4.3m transversely over walls 0.9m thick). The walls are of clay-bonded, harled rubble masonry; the gables are crowstepped, with cavetto skewputts, and there is an eaves-cornice and a stepped rat ledge. The roof, though collapsed, was slated. Low-level doorways are located at the WSW end of the SSE wall (blocked) and at the centre of the ENE wall respectively.

Visited by RCAHMS (IMS) 20 April 1989.
