Publication Account (1862)

A few years ago, while making some improvements to the field adjoining the grounds of Abernyte House, some stone coffins were turned up, containing bones.

Name Book 1862

Field Visit (5 February 1969)

The find spot of these coffins is situated on a slight natural hillock on, and around, which there is a considerable scatter of stones, possibly the site of a cairn. No further information could be found locally.

Visited by OS (RD) 5 February 1969.

Field Visit (16 May 1989)

No visible features were noted on the date of visit. The site of the cists is a low, natural mound in a pasture field.
