Two unroofed buildings, one of which is annotated as a Ruin, one partially roofed building, twenty roofed buildings, of which two are long buildings, one is T-shaped, one has two wings and one is annotated as a Ruin, and eighteen enclosures are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Perthshire 1867, sheet lxxxvii). Ten unroofed buildings and four enclosures are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1970).

Field Visit (11 June 1964)
The village of Pitmiddle, is now completely deserted; only the shells of the buildings remain and are overgrown with vegetation. The walls are 0.6m wide on average with a maximum height of c.4.0m. No trace of any earlier structures was seen in the heavily overgrown area of the village, or in the arable fields to the south of it.
