Interior. Cask Rejuvination Process. Cask Hoop Puller. This loosens the cask hoops prior to rejuvination work beginning on the cask shell. Rejuvination involves altering he teperature of the cask which causes it to expand and contract (as it cools) thus altering the shape and so the rejuvination process also entails the squeezing of the staves that make up the cask shell against each other, as well as squeezing it against the heads or ends to ensure the cask becomes watertight and ready for re-filling with spirit. Here the base plate 'arms' of the puller are extending and have loosened the end and quarter hoops. |
