Field Visit (8 September 2007)
This group of five cleits is situated on the W bank of the burn Abhainn Mhor. All have partly collapsed, but retain two or more roof lintels with fragments of turf cap. Four of the cleits (Hirta 883-6) overlie the W edge of an enclosure defined by a grass grown boulder wall; the fifth lies within it on a baulk left by turf stripping. Further stretches of boulder walls lie to the S, to either side of the burn.
