Field Visit (8 September 2007)
This group of seven cleits is spread across an area measuring 100m from NE to SW by 35m transversely stretching along the steep boulder strewn slopes above the modern quarry (NF09NE 24) to an area stripped of turf in the NE. The largest of the group is also the best preserved and stands on a slight terrace, retaining its roof and much of its turf cap (Hirta 882). Two others remain roofed, but the remaining four have all been robbed to their footings.
