Archaeology Notes

NS05NE 100 08846 57659

Aerial photography has recorded the cropmarks of field boundaries and what was probably a trackway in a large field immediately SE of Drumreoch farmsteading (NS05NE 38). The field boundaries, which include both straight and curving narrow ditches up to about 180m in length, mainly lie in a cluster (centred NS 0883 5762) in the SW corner of the field. The trackway, which measures about 250m in length, extends from a point (NS 0894 5801) on the N edge of the field 250m SE to a point (NS 0910 5781) where it peters out close to the SE corner of the field.
