This sentry post, which is situated immediately SW of the road bridge, NC27SE 15, over the Kearvaig River, controls access by the general public to the part of the Cape Wrath Training Centre (NC27SE 2) that is deemed dangerous during military exercises. It comprises a timber hut or shed (CWTC08 49: NC 28837 71706) with a pitched corrugated steel sheet roof, its sides and ends painted with a large black and white checkerboard pattern, and a small steel portacabin (CWTC08 50: NC 28842 71706), its sides and ends painted with a large black and yellow checkerboard pattern. In addition, there is a flagpole on which warning flag may be raised, notice- and warning-boards, and a barrier-type gate.
