Field Visit (2008)
NC36NW 14 31645 67359
This drystone shelter stands on the NE shoulder of Fashven (460m OD), a steep-sided hill some 9km SE of Cape Wrath. Rectangular on plan, it measures roughly 2.2m square over walls 0.6m in thickness and 1.1m in height. There is an entrance in the W end and the slab roof has almost totally collapsed. The shelter appears to be recent and may have been constructed as an observation post for use during gunnery and bombing exercises.
