Note (1995)
A small sample of iron slag and a possible mis-casting fragment were found just outside the S entrance of the higher of the two huts, on the E side (NO 1456 5702) by Professor G Dutton of Druimchardain, Bridge of Cally. Now in Perth Museum and Art Gallery (acc. nos 1995.999.1 and 2).
Information from M Hall, PMAG, letter to RCAHMS, 20 June 1995.
NO 1456 5702 A small sample of iron-working slag was donated to Perth Museum & Art Gallery. Accession No: 1995.999.1&2.
The material was found in 1969 after initial ploughing by the Forestry Commission. The site has been recorded by the Royal Commission (NO15NW 8). A previously unrecorded settlement site directly behind the finder's house was also brought to the attention of the Royal Commission.
