Field Visit (23 April 1974)
NO15NE 13 1531 5920 and 1535 5922.
At NO 1531 5920 (A) and NO 1535 5922 (B) are two stone-walled huts with traces of ruinous walls in the area suggesting contemporary cultivation. 'A', set into the side of a knoll, measures c. 10.0m in diameter between the centres of a wall spread to 2.0m. The ill-defined entrance is in the SSE.
'B', crossed by a modern wall, appears to be oval, measuring 11.0m WSW-ENE by 10.0m between the centres of a wall of indefinite thickness. The ill-defined entrance is in the WSW.
Surveyed at 1,10,000.

Measured Survey (1987)
RCAHMS surveyed the hut-circles, field systems and Pitcarmick-type buildings at Drumturn Burn/Knockali in 1987 at a scale of 1:2500. The resultant plan was redrawn in ink and published at a scale of 1:5000 (RCAHMS 1990, Fig. 124.4C).
Field Visit (9 September 1988)
The remains of two hut-circles lie on the E side of the track to Knockali about 730m SE of Drumfork House, and just beyond the improved fields.
1. NO 1531 5920 This hut-circle is situated on the S side of a low knoll and measures 7.5m in diameter within a wall reduced to a low stony bank up to 0.3m in height. On the N the bank climbs the side of the mound and on the W it is about 3.2m thick and has an outer kerb of at least nine visible boulders. On the E side the bank appears to split into two, an inner (2.5m thick) and an outer providing an overall thickness of up to 4m; the entrance (about 1.4m wide) is situated on the S.
2. NO 1535 5921 The easterly of the two hut-circles underlies a modern dyke and is visible as a roughly circular hollow within a wall which has been reduced to a stony bank up to 2m thick from which several large boulders protrude. At least six of the boulders (one of which stands 0.4m high) are set upright and are probably facing-stones. The bank measures 0.3m in height above the interior and the entrance may be on the WSW where there is a slight gap.

RCAHMS 1990
Field Visit (25 November 2015)
Alder Archaeology was commissioned by John Clegg & Co, Chartered Surveyors and Forestry Agents to undertake a desk-based assessment and walkover survey on the site of a proposed forestry development at Drumfork, Blacklunans, near Blairgowrie, Perth and Kinross. The walkover (Alder site code (BW09) was done on 25 November 2015 in mainly dry, windy weather condition. The site had previously been surveyed by the RCAHMS in 1987-8 and only one additional site was recorded: a short stretch of drystone wall beside a rock outcrop, possibly part of a shelter.
