NO14NW 24 1025 4937 and 1025 4947
At NO 1025 4937 (a) and NO 1025 4947 (b) are two double-walled huts.
'A' measures c. 9.0m in diameter internally and c.15.0m between the centres of the poorly-preserved outer wall, with the entrance in the S. Outside the SW arc are traces of a small structure of uncertain plan and date.
'B' is c.9.0m in diameter internally and 15.5m between outer wall centres, with a mutilated entrance in the SSW. The W arc is partly destroyed by a "long house" measuring 21.0m x 5.0m. The outer wall in the SW expands to form an integral oval courtyard (11.5m ESE-WNW x 7.0m) with an entrance in its SSE arc.
There are a few contemporary heaps and field walls in the vicinity of the huts, but these are generally mutilated and confused by later agricultural activities in the area.
Surveyed at 1:10,000.

Field Visit (18 June 1987)
The remains of two hut-circles are situated in rough pasture some
130m NW of Ranageig cottage.
A stony bank extends N from (1) before looping round to the W and SW; other elements of a field-system (NO 14 NW 55) lie on gently-sloping S-facing pasture immediately NW of the hut-circles. The site covers
the area NO 1025 4937 to NO 1026 4947.
1. NO 1025 4937 (OS 'A') Situated immediately N of the track to Ranageig, there are the remains of a double-walled hut-circle which measures 8.8m in diameter within a turf-covered bank up to 1m in thickness and 0.3m in height. Inner and outer facing-stones are visible on the NE, and the entrance (1.3m wide) is situated on the SSW. The outer wall is very poorly preserved and the hut-circle measures about 15.7m in overall diameter.
2. NO 1026 4947 (OS 'B') This double-walled hut-circle measures 9.3m in diameter within a wall up to 1.5m in thickness and 0.3m in height. The inner wall is well-defined everywhere except the E and the entrance (1m wide) is on the SSW. Overall the hut measures 16.4m in diameter and the outer wall is 0.8m in thickness and up to 0.3m in height. On the W the outer wall has been robbed and its line is overlain by a later Pitcarmick-type building (NO 14 NW 54); on the E the outer wall loops outwards to enclose a hut-circle measuring 7.6m in diameter. The wall of this hut-circle is up to 1.6m thick and at least four outer facing-stones are visible on the E; its entrance (2.2m wide) is on the S.
