Archaeology Notes

NO13NE 37 1729 3514.

For cup-and-ring marked stone, possibly from this 'circle', see NO13SE 2.

Local informants state that this is the site of a number of standing stones, which formed a circle, with one in the centre.

Name Book 1858

There is no trace of this circle, the site being in a level arable field. Immediately to the SE in a ditch running parallel to the fence are about a dozen large boulders cleared from the field, possibly from the site of the circle.

Visited by OS 19 February 1969.
