(Area: NO 074 622) An earth-fast stone, with four large cups, is in a small field behind the keeper's house, 200yds. to the north of the mansion house of Balvarran. The stone is 11ft. by 6 1/2ft. and 15-18ins. high. The cups are from 7 to 9ins. in diameter and 3 1/2 to 5 1/2 ins. deep.

Field Visit (29 February 1988)
Situated on the S edge of a terrace, some 150m NNE of Balvarran House, there is a large boulder measuring 2.9m E-W by 1.6m in width and up to 0.5m in height. On its upper, roughly hog-backed surface, there are four large cup-marks. Three of the cup-marks measure up to 250mm in diameter and 140mm in depth, and the fourth measures 200mm in diameter and 100mm in depth.
