Field Visit (9 May 1974)

NO05SE 1 09 54.

A cist, 40ins. by 25ins. and 23ins. deep, containing a skeleton on its side and a probable food vessel about 6ins. in diameter and about 4ins. high, was opened at Woodhill, Perthshire, in 1857. A stereoscopic photograph of the cist and a photograph of the urn were donated to the Soc of Ants of Scot in 1860.

Note (1990)

A cist, aligned NW to SE and measuring 1.02m by 0.64m and 0.58m in depth, was found in 1857. It contained a crouched inhumation accompanied by a Food Vessel (now lost); a photograph of the pottery and stereoscopic photographs of the cist are in the Department of Archaeology, the Royal Museum of Scotland.
