Field Visit (22 November 1973)
NO05NE 25 0631 5632 to 0638 5631.
Situated on two prominent isolated knolls at NO 0631 5632 and NO 0638 5631 are two heather-covered cairns, 'A' and 'B' respectively.
'A' is 6.5m in diameter and about 0.7m high. The centre has been excavated revealing a cist 1.0m NE-SW by 0.6m which is full of peat. The S slab appears to have fallen inwards.
'B' is 7.0m in diameter and about 0.8m high with one or two kerb stones visible around the N arc. The centre has been excavated revealing a cist, still in good condition, measuring 1.2m ENE-WSW by 0.6m and about 0.5m deep. Just outside the NE side of the cairn is a flat slab (1.0m x 0.7m) which is probably the capstone.
Close by are a few stone clearance heaps, probably outliers of the field system to the SW.
Surveyed at 1:10,000.

Field Visit (14 October 1987)
Two burial cairns are situated on prominent rounded knolls about 60m apart on the S side of the Pitcarmick Burn.
The W cairn (NO 0631 5637) measures 5.6m in diameter and 0.5m in height over an intermittent boulder bank; at the centre there are the remains of a cist (c. 1.1m NE-SW by 0.8m and 0.3m deep) which was partially filled with peat on the date of visit.
The E cairn (NO 0637 5636) measures 6.4m in diameter by 0.6m in height and also has a kerb, of which at least ten boulders survive in situ, and a central cist. The cist measures 1.1m in length by 0.45m in width at the W end and 0.55m at the E end, and it is 0.4m in depth.
