A handle or haft of cetacean bone, 6 3/8" long and 1 1/16" max diameter, with a 3 1/2" deep hole at one end, found near Cubbie Roo's Castle was donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) by James Flaws, Castlehill Wyre, in 1930

HY 44187 26303 A sub-rectangular building platform on the slope of the mound and just east of the castle. This is orientated north-south and measures 20m by 8m. This site relates to where a hen house once stood in the early 20th century, although this was thought to incorporate the remains of a much earlier structure.
Site identified as part of a desk-based assessment followed by a broad-scale landscape survey.
