Desk Based Assessment (29 August 2017)

The Lamington Railway Viaduct spans 101m, carrying the West Coast Main Line over the River Clyde. The viaduct is supported by 3 red sandstone piers and was first opened in 1848. It underwent re-decking with a plate girder in 1937 and further upgrades in 1999. In 2016 it suffered damage from Storm Frank, closing for several weeks for repairs.
