Cropmarkings on oblique aerial photographs (RCAHMSAP 1977, 1988-9) reveal what may be a round barrow, a scatter of pits, a curvilinear ditch and what may be a subrectangular building. The cropmarks lie on a well drained ridge bounded by old channels to the S, E and N.
The barrow (EARNAP 85) is visible on the photographs as an arc of ditch around the W, with an internal diameter of about 10m, and a burial-pit at the centre. At least four pits are scattered to the W and NW of the barrow, with a single pit to the SE. To the E of the barrow and running along the edge of the higher ground there is an arc of ditch some 20m in length.
What may be the bedding trench for the wall of a subrectangular building (EARNAP 86) lies at the edge of the high ground to the NE of the barrow. It measures about 14m from NW to SE by 6m transversely. The sides are slightly bowed and both ends are indistinct, that on the SW end merging into the darker cropmarks at the terrace edge.
