Archaeology Notes

NS77NE 156 7669 7886

(location cited as NS 767 788). Auchincloch Mill, early 19th century. A 2-storey rubble building, on an L plan, with corrugated-iron additions. At the rear is a wood and iron, high-breast bucket wheel, about 3ft wide by 20ft diameter. Now out of use. The wheel was fed from a mill dam, now silted, which also supplied a threshing mill, fragments of which survive.

John Hume 1976.
