(A: NM 8167 0791) and (B: NM 8168 0790) Cup marked Rocks (NR)

OS 1:10,000 map, (1975)

Two cup-marked rocks. 'A' is situated 30 yards south of a very sharp road corner and is 13 yards east of the road. It measures 3' 2" by 2' 2" by 7" and bears a single cup-mark, 4" by 4 1/2" and 1 1/2" deep, on its SW. 'B' is 17 yards SE of 'A' and 27 yards east of the road. It is triangular in section, measuring 6' 6" by 2' 6" at base and 2 feet in height. It has eight cups along its top ridge, and three grooves about 6 to 8 inches down its steep side, and one 'dumb-bell'.

Activities

Field Visit (March 1985)

On a rock-spine situated about 50m SE of a sharp bend in the Oban to Lochgilphead road (A816), there are at least six plain cupmarks measuring up to 90mm by 20mm. A second boulder bearing a single cupmark, which formarly lay 15m to the NW, could not be located (Campbell and sandeman 1964).
