Activities

Commission And Contract (1935)

Competition to design Cragburn Pavilion won by J and J A Carrick.

Modification (1966)

Renovations for Gourock Town Council.

One of the schemes was to extend on the North West side of the pavilion, adding a restaurant/function room. Proposals for the South East elevation were to renovate the canopy, add new armourplate doors, and use special facing brick. The same cladding was also to be used on the North West elevation. Two features of the proposed extension were the white concrete arcading introducing as much light as possible into the restaurant, and a sculpted panel.

The second proposed scheme was for a smaller extension to the South East side extending the kitchen, to supply catering facilities for the adjoining seating area. The existing roughcast facade is noted on the accompanying elevations as being badly cracked. New purpose-made windows for the building are mentioned in the 1966 Schedule of Works.
