St Mary's Well was originally a far-famed holy-well, but has since been drained and nothing now remains, but the name.

Name Book 1867.

No trace remains of this well

Visited by OS (WDJ) 15 September 1961.

Johnston confirmed, but at 5002 6658 is a modern concrete-lined well, in use, which is known locally as 'Mary Well'; but there is no tradition attached to it.
