Archaeology Notes

NS56NE 2506 5815 6694

Crown Ironworks, built from c 1869 for Thomsom & Co., railway spring makers. Additions were made in 1971-2 and 1874-5, while the works was reconstructed in 1908. The range facing the street is two storeys high, 18 bays long, much altered, while there are single storey workshops at the rear.
