Activities

Publication Account (1997)

The most fully developed example of Matthew's rubbly, timber-clad Modernity of the 1950s, before new interpretations of Functionalism began to surface in his office in the early '60s. One of the first build realisations of multi-storey tower blocks in Scotland, this group adds an informal but urbane vertical punctuation to Perth Road. The tower chiefly contains departmental and administrative accomodation, including the nascent University of Dundee's Senate Room; the lower spur contained the University library. (Fig. 4.69).

Information from 'Rebuilding Scotland: The Postwar Vision, 1945-75', (1997).

Photographic Survey (16 September 2010)
