World War One Audit of Surviving Remains (19 September 2013)

A drill hall is listed by Osborne (2006) in Bridge Street and the Wilson Hall seems the only candidate for the building. The building, appears on the 2nd and 3rd edition OS 1:2500 maps of the town, in the latter marked as 'Hall'. In 1914 the hall was the base of "B" Company, 5th battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers. Osborne notes that the hall was out of use by 1933. It has since been demolished.

Information from HS/RCAHMS World War One Audit Project (GJB) 19 September 2013.
