The parish church of Coldstone stood a little north of centre of the graveyard until removed at the end of the 17th century when the parish was united with Logie, and nothing remained in 1866.
Name Book 1866.
Coldstone was a prebend of Aberdeen and the church was dedicated to St Neachtan of Mortlach (H Scott 1915-61) Phillips suggests a dedication to St Wallach (Information from the Dark Age Index, by C W Phillips) (This refers to the ancient church at Logie Mar).
Within the churchyard (in use as the headstone of a grave) is an oval slab of whinstone, 1 foot 10 inches long, by 11 inches wide by 3 1/2 inches deep with a Celtic cross incised upon it.

No trace or local knowledge of the church: the graveyard is still in use. The cross-inscribed stone is as described and illustrated.
