A small plot of rig-and-furrow cultivation can still be seen in the triangle formed by St Margaret's Loch, the Queen's Drive and the foot of Whinny Hill. The rigs are aligned from NW to SE and are between 5.5m and 6.5m in breadth by up to 0.2m in height. They are plotted on an archaeological map of Holyrood Park (RCAHMS 1999).
