Field Visit (16 April 2015)

A walk-over survey was conducted on 16 April 2015 along the route of a proposed new overhead power line at Glenscorrodale, Isle of Arran. The only features of note along this route were the sparse remains of the possible farmstead of Corriehiam at NR 95421 26494 and sections of pre-modern boundary walls at NR 95534 26479, NR 95677 26829 and NR 96254 27879.

Information from OASIS ID: scotiaar1-210040 (J Lewis) 2015.

Field Visit (16 April 2015)

The farmstead and its associated field system, were recorded during the walk over survey.

The only structures visible at Corriehiam were at NR 95421 26494, where one small enclosure measuring some 7m square and remnants of a few drystone walls survive.

A grass-covered stone bank was noted at NR 95534 26479 (NGR is in error, probable location taken from the photograph in the report is NR 95534 26679) from where it extends to the east and west.

At NR 95677 26829 and extending to the east and west are the remains of another stone boundary wall covered in vegetation.

Information from OASIS ID: scotiaar1-210040 (J Lewis) 2015.
