Archaeology Notes

NO64NE 76 6765 4932

Oblique aerial photographs (RCAHMSAP 1995) show the cropmarks of a possible field boundary, 250m W of Newbarns Cottages. The field boundary, visible as parallel linear cropmarks curving from S to NW, runs for about 250m. It is depicted as a single line on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Forfarshire, 1865, sheet xli), and on the current edition of the 1:10 000 map sheet (1992).

Information from RCAHMS (KJ) 27 April 1999.
