Cited by Grampian Regional Council as Pitmuies Mill Farm, located at NO 5915 4990, and allocated site number GRC NO55SE 18. Palisaded enclosure, pits, possible cursus and square barrow cemetery noted.

Oblique aerial photography (RCAHMSAP 1995) has revealed the cropmarks of pit-alignments and pits, immediately to the NW of Friockheim. The most distinct pit-alignment, aligned SW-NE, measures about 100m in length and has a number of pits surrounding it.
