This RCAHMS photographic survey was conducted in order to enhance and augment the National Monuments Record Scotland holdings.

Visited by RCAHMS (AGL), April 1999.

This intermediate station on the Inverness-Wick and Thurso ('Far North') line of the former Highland Rly. was opened (as Bonar Bridge Station) by the Inverness and Aberdeen Junction Rly. on 1 October 1864. It was renamed Ardgay Station on 2 May 1977, and remains in regular passenger use.

The buildings are remarkably well preserved; columns typical of before 1870 support a small awning.

Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 10 November 2000.
