Archaeology Notes

NH68NW 21 6442 8838

'Creich, the seat of Gray of Creich lies 1/4 mile SE of the Church.'

W Macfarlane 1906-8.

Creich House, a substantial house last occupied continuously at the turn of the century, is reduced to a roofless shell. Little remains of any architectural detail, and what does survive suggsets an 18th - 19th century date.

Lord Migdale, whos has undertaken to document the history of the area, has been unable to discover the date of construction of this house, or details of any preceding dwellings.

Visited by OS, 10 October 1980.
