Archaeology Notes

NH64SW 4 643 427.

At Clachnahulaig which is right below the hill (Torvean) a burial place seems to have existed. The name is associated with Lugaidh or Molvoc Abbot of Lismore who may have had a small oratory at Clachnahulaig.

ISSFC 1885.

No additional information concerning this burial ground was encountered during field investigation.

Visited by OS (J L D) 25 April 1962.

Clachnahulig, Burial-ground and Oratory NH c. 643 427 NH 64SW 4

Nothing now remains of an 'oratory' and a 'burial place' recorded at Clachnahulig and possibly associated with St Lugaidh.
