Activities

Aerial Photographic Interpretation (19 August 1998)

NS86NW 13.11 centred 8057 6998

Identified from aerial photographs, an area of rig and furrow cultivation, centred on NS 8042 6989, and extending from within the area of Avonhead Colliery (see NS86NW 13.00) to as far N as Greensdykeside farmsteading (NS 8110 7039). This area of rig and furrow cultivation was also identified from vertical air photographs taken by the OS. This provided the basis for a distribution map created for publication by the RCAHMS (RCAHMS 1998; DC39367).

Information from RCAHMS (KB) 19 August 1998.
