Archaeology Notes ( - 1963)

NH63SE 13 6798 3492.

(NH 6797 3493) The track to Beachan passes through a large burial. Information from Major C J Shaw to OS 5 February 1962.

The above is probably referring to an old quarry site at the side of the track at NH 6798 3492. Nothing was seen to suggest a burial or cairn.

Visited by OS (WDJ) 4 September 1963.

Activities

Field Visit (3 December 1992)

There is a gravel pit at this location which has removed most of a glacial hummock. There were no signs of any burials or cairn.
