This U-shaped burnt mound, which is situated near the source of a tributary of the Grumby Burn, measures 9.7m from E to W by 7.4m transversely and 1m in height, opening out towards the burn on the NE. Within the mound there is a reed-filled hollow which measures 4m from NE to SW by 2.5m across. Lifting a sod revealed cracked stone and black soil.
