Archaeology Notes

NH44NE 14 4767 4585.

At NH 4767 4585 and separated from a field system (NH44NE 12) by a wet gully, is an ill-defined circular stone-walled hut measuring c 8.5m between the centres of a wall spread to an indeterminate width. No entrance is evident, in the immediate vicinity are a few stone clearance heaps, probably from contemporary cultivation plots.

Activities

Field Visit (March 1979)

Farley NH 476 458 NH44NE 14

What may be the remains of a circular stone-walled house, measuring about 10m in diameter over all, are situated 750m NE of Farley. To the W there are a few small cairns but they occur within the area enclosed by a later field-dyke and may be of recent date.

RCAHMS 1979, visited March 1979
