Field Visit (4 July 1995)

What may be a cairn is situated on the summit of a knoll set forward from the leading edge of the first terrace above the haughland to the SW of the River Brora. It measures about 2m across and 0.3m in height and although the centre is depressed, giving the appearance of a hut, a line of four boulders on the NW to SE look more like kerb stones than a facing for a bank. These boulders are placed in a relatively straight line, suggesting that the cairn may have been square.
