Field Visit (3 May 1961)

NG25NE 2 269 578.

NG 269 578. Upon a west-facing slope, 1/2 mile NE of Waternish House, is a group of about 15 shielings. They are of stone construction but are in a collapsed state, reduced to shapeless turf-covered mounds with hollows in the centre. (Visible on RAF air photograph CPE/Scot/UK/175, 1379-80)

Visited by OS (ASP) 3 May 1961.

Field Visit (2 October 1990)

These shielings are now situated in dense afforestation and were not located on the date of visit.
