Archaeology Notes

NG20SE 13 2884 0424

Situated at NG 2882 0424 on level ground near the bottom of a N-facing slope are traces of a structure (similar to those described under NG20NW 3), measuring 14.0m E-W by 1.5m.

Surveyed at 1:10,000. (See NG20NW 3).

Visited by OS (I S S) 29 May 1972.

(Formerly classified as kelp kiln; location amended to NG 2884 0424). A narrow rectangular structure defined by two parallel rows of boulders lies at the foot of a steep slope, on level ground at the top of the cliffs to the SE of Rubha Camas Stianabhaig. It measures 12m from ENE to WSW by 1.3m transversely overall, and is open at both ends.
