Hume states that Loudon Mill dates from the late 18th to early 19th century with later additions. It is a 2 and 3-storey brick and rubble building, the yellow-brick extension dating from 1914. The mill had a 10-spoke, wood and iron low-breast paddle-wheel about 3ft wide by 20ft diameter (0.91 by 6.10m).
J R Hume 1976
This late 18th, early 19th century building was a water-powered grain mill, but is now converted to a dwelling, and re-named 'Millcroft'. A date-plaque of 1914 suggests either an extension or re-build at that date.
