A drill hall was constructed in 1884 according to the date stone on the front of the instructor’s house, now called Hall House, fronting the N side of Main Street (see NT47NE 108). The hall was built to the rear of the house and is annotated drill hall on the 2dn and 3rd editions of the OS 25-inch map (Haddingtonshire). The hall was gifted to the community in 1951 by the Earl of Wemyss.
