Around 1785, an old grain mill, the original date of which is not known, was renovated as part of the wider development of the cotton industry in this part of Rothesay (Nisbet 2006, 43; see also NS06SE 67 and NS06SE 251). Both the mill and an adjacent storehouse were photographed by RCAHMS in 1981 before being demolished.
