NS15SW 9 11048 52760.

NS 112 526. An oval cairn, 2' high and 28' x 32' is situated 50 yds S of the ruins of an old inn at Glen Callum Bay. Excavation in 1968 revealed a poorly constructed cist, 4'6" x 3'9" x 3' deep. No trace of bones or burial deposit was found.

NS 1105 5275. A grass-covered cairn 10.0m in diameter and 0.7m high. The centre has been left hollow after the excavation and the poorly made cist 0.9m by 0.8m by 0.6m deep is still exposed.

This site was noted during a coastal zone assessment survey undertaken by CFA Archaeology Ltd to characterise the state of coastal erosion and the threat it poses to cultural heritage sites. A gazetteer in the report included a note of existing records and new sites when discovered. Where the site was located, notes included condition, period/date and recommendations.

This cairn is as previously described. The S side and the E end of the cist are still partly exposed.
